Today is a SAD, SAD DAY in WRD 422 Taco Literacy class at UK. It was our last class meeting 😭 this class has been one of my favorite classes at UK and I'm so glad I got to take it my last semester of undergrad. Professor Alvarez, THANK YOU. For everything you've done to put this class together, create a family, share your passions with us, and break down barriers. We appreciate you so much and will miss this class more than you know! Senior year: check! Case-Uh-Dilla: out! 🎓😢🌮🌯🎉 #tacoliteracy #mexKY #MEXINGTON
I hate to admit it, but I am that girl that celebrated her to 21st birthday last year at Mi Pequeña Hacienda in Brannon Crossing. I was sang to, given a shot of tequila, and topped with a sombrero. Now I regret it learning about the actual significance of this hat to the campesinos. #MexKY #tacoliteracy #mexington
Had a great time skyping with @gustavo_arellano in class today! He is the author of "Taco USA: How Mexican Food Conquered America", that we are reading for class. It details the history behind Mexixan food's first steps into Los Estados Unidos (USA) and the affects on USA's culture and foodways. So glad he took the time to talk with us and answer our questions!! #BOOM #MexKY #TacoLiteracy #tacousa
#ukwrd student Rachel Dixon on "Burgoo and Birria." On this #tacoliteracy panel participants included Jairo Villarreal, Will Courtenay, Dory Caloca, Evelyn Husdon, Kristi Street, Jenna Blandford, and Seohee Song. Great audience! #uky #universityofkentucky #seeblue #kairos #kairocast #writingstudies #visualrhetoric #comprhet
